What is Sundae (순대)?
Pronounced “soon-dae” (Not like icecream sundae!) it is a type of Korean sausage and very very popular street food! It is a very common sight at street food stalls, and it is a pig intestine blood sausage stuffed with noodles, vegetables, and spices!
Sundae can be served steamed, stir fried, or even broiled in stews and soups! While you can get it anywhere in South Korea, we thought we could share Seoul’s famous Sundae town for you to visit!
Seoul’s Sundae Town is in Sillim-dong, near the metro station of the same name. It is very easy to find and it is on line 2 (the green line) so super convenient for people to visit! There are many famous sundae restaurants in this neighborhood!
Sundaetown is very popular with working people and students alike, and it is always crowded! You can go at any time of the day and you will find people eating sundae here, so we highly recommend that you take some time to visit this amazing destination!
