The Hyundai Card Music Library (현대카드 MUSIC LIBRARY)
The Hyundai Card Music Library was just newly opened on May 22 last year located in Itaewon. The library offers in total more than 3,000 books related to music records and over 10,000 vinyls. Among all records, some of the notable and rare collections are “Yesterday and Today” from The Beatles and “Yesterday and Today” from The Beatles from The Rolling Stones.
The space not only offers much inspirations and pleasure to music lovers but visitors may also be absorbed with the modern design of the architecture of the building. The building was designed by Choi Moon-kyu, architect and professor at Yonsei University.
The space aims to expand the realm of music and culture in the region. The library is where visitors can enjoy an analogue music culture while the “understage” is a hip cultural space for musicians of all genres. — Yun Suh-young, THE KOREA TIMES
On the B2 floor of the building, there offers the space as a concert hall for all genres. The underground stage or so called “Understage” is place that aim to expand opportunities for all kinds of music, musicals and plays to exhibit their performances. Also, the empty outdoor space with the work of French street artist JR on the wall provide mini concert stage for young musicians.
